Construction Zone privacy

Construction Zone is designed so normal company operations remain on the customer’s computer.

Local company information

Jobs, leads, customers, finances, documents, accounts, and application settings are stored in the customer’s local Construction Zone installation. Saved application data and protected documents use AES-GCM encryption. The database key is protected by Windows for that computer.

Licensing and updates

License activation sends the registered company or purchaser name, installation ID, application edition, and version to the Construction Zone publisher service. License checks may also send license and device status. Update checks send the edition and installed version. These services do not receive the company database, financial workbook, documents, job records, customer records, encryption key, or account passwords.

Purchases

Square hosts the payment page and processes payment information. Construction Zone stores the purchase reference, purchaser-provided company name and email, Square order and payment identifiers, payment status, company-license identifier, and delivery status needed to complete and support the purchase. Construction Zone does not receive or store complete card numbers.

Google Calendar

Google Calendar is optional. When a company chooses to connect it, Construction Zone requests permission only to manage events owned by the connected calendar account. Appointment titles, customer or project references, contact details, locations, times, status, and notes may be sent to Google when needed to synchronize linked appointments. The reusable Google authorization token remains in the encrypted local database. Disconnecting removes the local authorization; existing Google events are not automatically deleted merely because the account was disconnected.

Manual transfers and backups

The base app can create a password-encrypted transfer package for a replacement computer. The customer chooses where to copy and store it. Automatic off-device backups and restore history are separate planned services and are not active unless clearly released and enabled.

Support

Support starts only after a company administrator requests it. The administrator chooses whether to include sanitized technical details and separately chooses whether to share a browser tab, window, or screen. Construction Zone’s built-in screen sharing is view-only. It cannot control the keyboard or mouse, browse files, use the clipboard, or silently start a session.

Local security limits

Local encryption cannot protect information from a person or malicious program already controlling an unlocked Windows account or an administrator account. Customers should protect their Windows sign-in, keep trusted security software current, and store encrypted transfer packages or backups separately from the computer.

Planned optional services

Cloud protection, paid support, and lead messaging remain off unless the company explicitly enables a released service. Saving or importing a lead never authorizes outreach. Future messaging requires provider authorization, consent records, opt-out handling, and company-controlled activation.
